🎧 Sound On: An interview with @Abortion.Doula
What is an abortion doula and why are they vital to care work?

It’s fitting that I’m sharing this interview on my daughter’s 3rd birthday, because her very existence is the result of the beauty and joy and love of reproductive freedom. I waited so intentionally for her. I am the thoughtful, committed parent I am to her because I had the space and time to decide whether becoming a parent was the right journey for me in the first place. Every other potentially pregnant person should have that same freedom to wait or forego or pursue parenthood.
With that in mind, I’m excited to share my recent interview with Rachael Behling, a gorgeous and courageous friend of a friend who has been an abortion doula since 2014 (she’s also nearly done training to become an RN so she can further her work in this field).
In this first installation of my new series for paid subscribers, Rachael shares a bit about the work of an abortion doula, what inspired her to do this kind of care work, and how anyone supporting a person seeking or experiencing an abortion can best care for them.
